Real Property Report

A Real Property Report (RPR) is a legal document which shows the location of visible improvements relative to property boundaries. This document is used by real estate buyers, sellers, money lenders and municipalities. An RPR contains an illustration of the property showing various improvements as well as a written statement detailing an Alberta Land Surveyor’s opinions or concerns when it comes to issues like encroachments or possible conflicts down the road. As a buyer, getting an RPR on a property being purchased is very important because it will show you what you are buying as well as any problems you are inheriting.

An RPR does not include marking property corners in the ground but this can be completed for an extra charge. Update RPR’s can be completed if a previous RPR has been completed on the same property so long as it is not more than 10 years old.
